O2 Sensor

I pulled the front rotors off yesterday and inspected the bearings. I intended to replace them but they looked like replacement barrings and were in great shape. I tightened the barrings down with the calipers off so I could get an accurate amount of torque on the bearings and that seemed to help with my front end vibration.
I also replaced the O2 sensor with a direct fit Bosch sensor.  Do you think the old one was shot?

On the Road Again

I had the oil cooler fixed on Friday. I dropped it off at a local radiator shop called Manley Radiator. I bought the fuel tank parts and crush washers for the oil filter. The second bung on the oil cooler is also now welded. I have the car back together and all seems well right now. The gas tank still had a bunch of surface rust even after having it dipped but all the loose stuff should be taken care of. Also the oil cooler seems to be leak free.

Garden of the Gods

I drove the car to Garden of the Gods on the way home on Friday and took some pictures.

As I was leaving Garden of the Gods, I had to stop in a parking lot so I could jack the car up and clean the filter again. I got the car home and pulled the tank. There is still a ton of rust in the tank. I also pulled the oil cooler to see what is leaking. The other bung on the cooler is also cracked and I will need to have that welded as well.

So I’m walking and getting rides untill I can come up with about $150 so I can fix the car.

Oil Leak

I made quite a bit of progress this weekend. I flushed the coolant and replaced some of the hoses. I repaired the front bumper temporarily. I also repaired the fender as best as I could.

My small oil leak at the oil cooler turned into a waterfall on saturday. I spent a few hours on saturday trying to remove the oil lines from the cooler with no luck. I worked on it on sunday and ended up asking Eric for help. We were able to get the lines off. I than walked to the Autozone around the block looking for crush washers. They had an assorted pack but only one. I than walked about a mile to a Checker to get more crush washers and they didn’t have any that worked (I did talk to them on the phone). I took this morning off to get the car fixed. I drove all over town looking for crush washers that would work. I ended up going to a different autozone and bought two more assorted packs. It the packs there was one that I needed and a second that was close. I needed two of each. The one that was close, I had to use the dremmel to get it to work. I get all that done and go to put it back into the car only to find out the oil cooler is cracked at the fitting. I than have to take it to a welder to have it repaired. I get the car back together only to find out it is back to leaking. I drive the car to work and it is now leaking quite a bit. This car is going to be the end of me.
