Paint Started

I an able to get the paint done on the car sooner than originally planned.  The car went into the shop on February 18th.  I’m having rust and dent repair, front subframe repaired, paint, wheels refinished, new seals, emblems, and decals.

We had hoped that the front end was just slightly damaged and could be straightened.  After the bumper, front cowl, head lights, and fenders were removed, the damage was severe in front of the shock towers.  I cut the front of my old RX-7 off at the shock towers a number of months ago anticipating that we would use some of the parts. I never thought we would end up using basically the entire section.  The painting of the car should take less than a month to get done.

I’m actually helping with the painting proccess.  Over the weekend I pulled everything out of the front of the engine compartment.  Parts that I removed  included the radiator, radiator support, battery tray, air box, a/c condenser, oil cooler, etc. I also moved things like the wiring harness out of the way.
